KEEP AN EYE OUT HERE FOR UPDATES TO THE FUTURE OF THE SCHREIBER DIESELS, AS I FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON, I WILL INFORM YOU, THE FANS...

“WOW”….First & foremost, I would like to congratulate the Schreiber Diesel Hockey Players for another exciting year of Jr. “A” Hockey.

Each & every one of you young men on the Diesels team deserve a pat on the back for showing the North Shore what a team of dedicated & disciplined guys could accomplish with hard work & determination.

Hold your heads high, as had there been a few bounces this way or that way, we all know that the SIJHL title or the Dudley Hewitt Cup may have been yours.

I said that you showed the whole “North Shore” what you guys could do…I take that back, you showed the whole “North Shore” & the “Whole Province of Ontario” what a team of dedicated & disciplined guys could accomplish with hard work & determination. Everyone that I talked with during the Dudley Hewitt Cup was more than impressed with your skill & passion for the game.

So, here is to you, the Diesel Players…You guys ROCK.

Secondly, the Coaches, Trainers & Equipment Managers need to be commended for a job well done; I know that I would not like to make some of the decisions that you all have had to make. So our hats are off to all of you.

To the Diesel Executive, which I am proud to say, I am one of, when the chips were down & it seemed like the team was finished, you guys & gals stepped up & made things work, without your dedication & efforts, I would not be writing this, as there would be no Diesels….So, my fellow Executive Members hold your heads high & remember, we are also a part of the “Team”

To all of the Diesels hard working Volunteers’, be it announcers, music players, goal judges, time keepers, security personnel, National Anthem singers, 50/50 & ticket sellers, van drivers, meal preparers, fundraising personnel (“The McGuaig ladies” especially), without your time & effort , none of this would have been possible, so if I can speak for our Executive…THANK YOU ALL, YOU ARE THE BEST..

ALSO A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE PLAYERS BILLETTING FAMILIES, without you opening up your home to our young men, there would be no where for the players to stay, so again, THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH.

My apologies if I may have missed anyone, but you all know who you are & hopefully we will be partaking in this again in the 2009/2010 season.

To the Dudley Hewitt Committee:

What a Fantastic job on such a huge undertaking, each & every one of the committee & their sub committees has made the town of Schreiber proud. The countless volunteers that your committees needed to succeed is much too large to commend personally, but all I can say is … WOW, what an event.

HOCKEY INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Schreiber Diesels organization is very proud of being known as the “Smallest Town in Canada with a Junior ‘A’ Hockey Franchise" as reported by TSN.  Be a part of this hockey history – be an investor and/or owner.

Our organization is looking for investors and/or owners to participate in the growth and development of our Junior ‘A’ franchise to start in the upcoming season 2009-2010.

We have been in the Superior International Hockey League for four years and have had great success in such a short time.  Our team has won:

·         First year

o        Coach of the Year

·         Second year

o        League title

o        Advanced to the Dudley Hewitt Cup (Central Canadian Junior ‘A’ Hockey Championship)

At the Dudley Hewitt Cup in 2006-07, the Schreiber Diesels lost in the final game to the Aurora Tigers who went on to become the Canadian champions at the Royal Bank Cup.

The Township of Schreiber has been extremely supportive with the Schreiber Diesels and has plans to continue with this support.

In April 2009, the Schreiber Diesels are hosting the Dudley Hewitt Cup in our hometown of Schreiber, Ontario.  We expect to make a strong run in the playoffs for our league title and will be striving to make the finals in the Dudley Hewitt Cup to advance to the all Canadian championship – the Royal Bank Cup, being held in British Columbia.

We welcome person(s) or parties interested in this great opportunity to be part of Canadian Junior ‘A’ hockey.  For further information, please log onto our website SchreiberDiesels.com or contact Stan Spadoni, Sr. at (807) 824-2249 or email stanspadoni@shawcable.com [after March 9, 2009], or call Bobby Spadoni at (807) 825-2577 or email spadoniservice@shawcable.com.
